Yesterday (31 October 2012) saw Allied Developments and full service contractors Warings officially sign the contract which will see the delivery of the landmark Admiral’s Quay development in Ocean Village, Southampton.
The three building scheme which centres around its 26 storey contemporary tower, to be the tallest building in Southampton, is designed to transform the city skyline and help make Ocean Village a world class destination. Offering 299 luxury apartments, private roof terrace gardens, a landscaped public promenade and up to eight new bars and restaurants, it is also anticipated to act as a catalyst for further investment and development in Southampton.
Peter Morton, Director of Allied Developments, said “We are delighted to be teaming up with Warings on this exciting project. It’s one of the most prestigious redevelopment and construction projects in the South East at the moment and will certainly transform the site which has been an eyesore in Ocean Village for many years. We are looking to attract high end occupiers for our bars and restaurants and create active use of the public space, more reminiscent of the café culture of the Mediterranean. We anticipate the project being completed in December 2014.”
Philippe Jouy, Managing Director at Warings, said: “We are proud to be developing this landmark and contemporary project.
“At Warings, we are able to bring unrivalled global knowledge to local projects, and I am confident that this project will be a great success.”
Site clearance and enabling works started in July 2012 and October saw the first piling rig move on to site. Vuepoint Consulting are managing the construction communications for the scheme and can be contacted on Freephone 0800 112 3540 or via www.admirals-quay.co.uk.
